It is possible to create task-based templates within RAMs App to help speed up the process of creating your documents. If the same types of jobs are performed with the same tasks over and over, it may be beneficial to create a template. The templates can then be used to create RAMs Documents, which would already have the relevant content selected throughout the steps.
NOTE: Templates are available on Unlimited and Multi-User plans only.
To create a Template, first visit the "Risk Assessment and Method Statement" module from the left-hand menu.
All the current RAMs documents will then be displayed. Above the current document, towards the top of the page, there are two tabs. "Documents" and "Templates". Select the "Templates" tab to continue.
The "Templates" tab will show all current RAMs Templates which have already been created. To create a new RAMs template, select the "Create New Template" button towards the top right of the webpage.
As this will be a template, the "Step 1" details just require a name for the template and a reference. When using the template, the system will ask for more detail to be added to step 1. To continue, after entering the name and reference for the RAMs template, select the "Continue" button at the bottom right.
If you are familiar with creating RAMs Documents, the next few steps will remain the same. First add in the relevant hazards and their risk assessments. Once the correct hazards have been added, select "Continue".
Then select the activities and check over the activity steps. After the activities have been selected, to continue, select the "continue" button.
Finally, review and add in the extra details to the method statements where applicable.
NOTE: All the details added to the template can be amended when the using the template to create a document.
Now that all the details have been added to the Template, to save the RAMs Template so it may be used by the organisation, select the "Save and exit" button at the bottom right of the page. This will then take you to the "Review" page, which would allow any of the four steps to be updated or reviewed once again.
The RAMs template will now be available within the "Current templates" table. To leave the review page, select the "Return to current templates" button.
The RAMs template may now be used to create a document. To do this, select the action button on the Templates card and then select the "Use template" action.
