Creating a COSHH Assessment in RAMs App is a 4-step process which involves inputting the following information:

  1. Substance details
  2. Control measures
  3. Usage details
  4. Activity review

Substance Details

Substance details are the key information to help identify the substance and the hazardous properties of the substance. All this information should be taken directly from the most recent version of the Chemical Safety Data Sheet.

  1. Enter the name of the substance that you are using or creating.
  2. Enter the name of the company that manufactures the substance. If this is a natural substance or something which is quite generic such as timber dust or grinding disc particles, we recommend that you enter n/a into this section.
  3. Give the COSHH Assessment a reference number for your own records.
  4. Enter the reference number from the Safety Data Sheet. It is recommended that the revision number of the Safety data sheet is also added to this field.
  5. Select the date that the Safety Data Sheet was created or last updated.
  6. Enter details of the substance ingredients including its colour and form (Liquid, solid, gas etc.)
